Cornucopia is a quaint harbor town in the northern most part of Wisconsin. They proudly boast the northern most post office in Wisconsin. This small town is located about 20 miles north of Bayfield Wisconsin.
There is a nice public park with a play area for the kids, an artesian water well, and Lake Superior beach.
The beach is narrow with grass reeds growing close to the water, which is clear and refreshing. There is plenty of room for the kids to run and play. A large open play area and play ground are in the park.
The park has a unique feature of an artesian water free-flow well. You can bring your jugs and fill them up. A shelter is also at the park to protect you from the sun or rain.
Right next to the park is a small museum and a harbor with several small shops. As you travel into town you will find a few more shops including a kayak rental shop, a coffee and oddities shop, and the self proclaimed farthest north post office in Wisconsin.
Cornucopia offer several waterfalls, nature trails and ‘sea caves’ along the coast in northern Bayfield County.
This is a small town with a history of logging, a small port and an artistic feel. It is a fun destination for a day trip to calm your soul.
